In times of private, personal worship, perhaps on your back porch, did that porch turn into a sanctuary…
and those birds in
the background –
did they become
nature’s choir singing
to your soul?
Or have you never had a private, personal
worship service on your back porch or family room or anywhere else… Only you and God…
Do you
approach coming to church as a magnificent opportunity to sing praises to His
name and be warmed and taught by His holy word?
And at the end of a service, whether the sermon was worth listening to
or not, will you have taken some of the precious gift
of your life and given it to our Lord?
Or do you come expecting to be bored… and at least partly because of your attitude, you get
what you expected?
We must be willing… to get up and get
going… to pray
and spend at least some time considering how
we got here in the first place…
Finding
meaning in life and excitement in life is certainly not the result of sitting on our rear ends just having
the thought to get up and do and be
something… but not actually getting up and doing and being something.
Faith? We need to get excited about it…
Unfortunately too
many people want to wear the tag without doing the deeds…
NOW that really is boring.
