We do fill our days with more nice,
thanksgiving people when we become one of those nice, thanksgiving people
ourselves. That’s just the way it works.
Grumbler’s Anonymous? Don’t form or join such a group. Don’t enshrine the practice as if it were
one of the Ten Commandments.
In other words, follow Paul’s
admonition:
"Do
all things without grumbling or questioning, that you may be blameless and
innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted
generation."
Do these things and you will look down into
the dark valley of complaints and wonder why you ever chose to live there.
And perhaps you will then be able to think
along with Ben Franklin,
“Some persons grumble because God placed thorns among the
roses. I thank God because he placed
roses among the thorns?”
