MANY OF THE SUGGESTIONS IN THIS BOOK ARE GOOD TO IMPROVE LIFE AT ANY AGE.

This book, SIXTY PLUS AND NOT HOLDING, is about dealing positively with the challenges of getting older and fosters the belief that “If we would have new knowledge, we must get a world of new questions.” (Susanne K. Langer)

“I am come that they (you) may have life and have it to the full. (John 10:10)

Anyone who lives long enough gets older. There are no other options. How we handle the adventure is filled with options.

Keep both eyes on life, and not on the calendar.
Admit your age, but don’t admit to the fallacy that you have to act like it. Saying, “I’m 39 and holding,” is more tragic than humorous because it argues that age has no attributes.

WISDOM WANDERINGS

Preparation is the key to success

Two safecrackers found their safe.
They carefully placed the explosive charges, ran the fuse and closed the door as they exited to another room before detonation.

Later the police dug them out of the debris and took them off to jail. They had failed to learn what was in the safe. EXPLOSIVES!

The moral is obvious.

Before goading ourselves toward a goal, we need to carefully calculate the cost.

Otherwise, we can spend a great deal of time and effort preparing our own private disaster area.

And, in making plans and setting possibilities, don't demand perfection.
Rather remember what General George Patton said, "A good plan executed is better than a perfect plan next week."

I know I am old school but I grow exceedingly weary with so many of today's athletes whose egos have long ago devoured their common sense.

Bragarts with a burn on.

And one day such a flame becomes a self-destructive force, whether it is an athlete on a field of play, a business person with an over inflated opinion of his or herself or a retiree who demands respect because of their age rather than their actions. Ego can be a three letter curse word.
We live by our philosophies. Ifwe demand that we have more than everyone around us, and be more without requiring more of ourselves, we are just asking for trouble.

If you haven't retired, but are contemplating it, financially act like you have.

For at least a month force yourself to live within the restraints of what you believe your retirement income will be.

If you have a few more working years it may motivate you to save a little more, or stop worrying because you now know you have enough to live comfortably .

BELOW IS A QUOTE FROM one SERIES on this Wyrick’s Writings site entitled ANGER IS A KILLER.

“Do you enjoy visiting friends? More than likely you’re thinking, Preacher, of course, I do.

Now let me ask the other side of the coin - Do you enjoy visiting enemies? No?Well, I know you must enjoy visiting at least one enemy because, like myself, you probably visit this one quite often. Unfortunately, we all …visit this enemy…whose name is anger.

Some visit anger seldom . Some on a regular basis. And during those visits, some spew and others stew.”
